At Northside Baptist Church, we exist to glorify God by making disciples who love God, love others, and serve the world. Located in the heart of North Fort Myers, we are a Christ-centered, Bible-believing community that welcomes people from all walks of life. Whether you're exploring faith, returning to church, or looking for a church home, you’ll find a warm and welcoming environment here.

 

Our worship services blend traditional and contemporary elements, and our ministries support every age and life stage—from kids and teens to adults and seniors. Through share groups, outreach, and service opportunities, we strive to grow together in faith and live out the love of Jesus in our community and beyond. OUR MISSION STATEMENT

“Ministering God’s Mercy in Our World by Sharing Christ Under the Authority of God’s Word and By the Power of His Spirit, for the glory of God and the joy of all people.” (Acts 2:42,47)

A MISSION FOCUSED ON MERCY

The key word in our mission statement is MERCY:  This word is found in Micah 6:8 which says, “He has told you, O man what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” We want to express our love for God’s mercy by becoming an expression of his grace and mercy in Christ through our church.

 

  • Missional: A holy worldliness through which we share Christ 
  • Evangelism: Loving, leading and linking people to Christ and His Church 
  • Renewal: God preserving His church by His truth, in unity, holiness and fruitfulness 
  • Community: The presence and power of God made visible in the love and life of the church 
  • Yahweh: The crucified and risen Christ at the center of our ministry 

WHAT WE BELIEVE

NORTHSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH CONSTITUTION

Northside Baptist Church holds to the Bible as the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. We believe in one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We affirm that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We uphold the ordinances of baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Our church exists to glorify God through worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and evangelism, as we seek to live in obedience to His Word and proclaim the Gospel locally and globally.

OUR MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

An extremely important part of life at NSBC is membership. We feel that membership at NSBC or any local church is necessary for a Christian’s growth. Through membership, you will experience deeper relationships with other believers as you witness and participate in living out the gospel on a daily basis: caring for others, forgiving others, serving others, practicing the “one anothers,” fellowshipping with and loving others. 

CONNECTING POINT

Once each quarter we offer an introductory class for prospective members offering an overview of what the Bible says about the church, our values, doctrine, and polity. During this class we will also offer the biblical rationale for church membership. Connecting Point is a small group time of teaching and conversation designed to be both engaging and informative.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

After prospective members have taken Connecting Point, they are encouraged to submit their testimony to the church office.

ELDER "GET-TO-KNOW-YA"

Once the testimony is received, the office will schedule an interview for prospective members with a couple of NSBC elders. Following a favorable understanding of the gospel, our church’s belief’s, and having been baptized at NSBC or a previous church they will be presented to the congregation for membership. 

MEMBER'S MEETINGS

Members Meetings are a place for accepting people into membership, releasing people from membership and working through the business of the church. At the conclusion of the members meeting we have an ice cream social to better get to know and welcome the new members.

OUR CHURCH HISTORY

SMALL BEGINNINGS

On May 23, 1976, Walt Hickman began serving as the first full-time Pastor of Northside Baptist Mission. The work began as a mission of Riverside Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Andy Anderson. The mission began with a handful of people in the Serendipity Mobile Home Park.

 

On February 13, 1977, the mission moved to its present site, meeting in a double-wide trailer on Littleton Road.
